This is a final candidate beta of a major upgrade to Virtual TimeClock.
Changes in Version 2
1. Monthly and semi-monthly payroll periods now fully supported.
Every major payroll frequency is now supported - weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly and monthly.
2. Time card data is now preserved for previous periods.
Previous periods can now be reprinted or corrected at any time. Historical time card data now remains until cleared. 12 months or more of time card activity can now easily be stored without significantly slowing down the program.
3. Unlimited time card activity is supported for any payroll period.
All previous limits on the number of clock uses per period have been removed.
4. Reports now only print information for the current payroll period.
New reporting methods remove the confusion of printed but untotaled time card activity from previous or subsequent periods.
5. Enhanced support for overnight and multiple day shifts.
The program now correctly and easily calculates hours for all known work shift schedules.
6. Simplified and enhanced program environment.
Based on extensive user feedback, over two dozen enhancements have been implemented to help create a simplified user interface that is a easier to learn and easier to maintain.
7. Reporting now indicates all manual modifications to timecards.
All modified time card lines are annotated as "M" for modified or "A" for manually added lines.
8. Implemented accommodation for new Year 2000 standard short date format.
The Mac has for some time supported the alternate short date format of MM/DD/YYYY (set in your Date & Time Control Panel). Virtual TimeClock now supports this new Y2K standard with wider date fields throughout.
9. Simplified payroll period maintenance.
Automated calculating of the next payroll period with fully integrated calendar for simplified date selection.
10. Tremendously improved date and time filtering.
All manual date and time entries are now extensively filtered with immediate feedback to the user, greatly reducing report errors when trying to use invalid dates and times.
11. Inactive employees are removed from the time clock list.
The "Active Employee" check box on each time card now determines both the employee's appearance in printed reports AND in the time clock list.
12. Integrated time card backup.
Added backup functionality (found under the File menu) for simplified backup of the TimeCard file.
13. New registration mechanism allows for easy upgrade of licenses.
Integrated one step process (found under the Contact menu) to upgrade from 'Single User' to 'Up to10 Employees' to 'Over 10 Employees' (unlimited) licenses.
14. Revised and simplified administrative password functionality.
Simply deleting the admin password removes all administrative password protection, giving you freedom to carry out multiple administrative tasks. Reentering a password puts protection back in full force.
15. Clocking 'in' and 'out' now requires a double-click rather than a single click.
Not only is this more 'Mac-like' it makes it harder to accidentally select the wrong person.
16. Editing a time card line now requires a double-click.

17. Corrected a rare error occasionally generated in the User Preferences dialog.
Added filtering and removed an inability to have blank fields in unused overtime features.
